WHAT IS BROW FEATHERING?
Brow feathering is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing procedure (also known as micro-blading). It is a non-surgical procedure that works on the dermal layer of the skin, imparting pigment in fine, hair-like brush strokes. It is most commonly used to shape and fill out thin or sparse brows, or to add definition to those who tire of applying makeup constantly. There are also practical benefits for those with health conditions, such as poor eyesight and alopecia. Semi-permanent means your eyebrows will slowly fade over time, though this will differ from person to person. This fading allows you to change not only the shape but the colour of your brows in the future.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
If you decide to proceed after your initial consultation, we will measure and pencil your eyebrows in place. Once you’re 100% happy with the shape, colour and symmetry of your brows, we will then start the treatment. The first treatment requires about an hour and a half, where I will apply the hair-strokes with a handheld tool (not a machine). Your skin will require 30-40 days healing time, after which time there will be shorter second treatment to enhance your brows and make any tweaks necessary. The success of the procedure is roughly 50% pigment and 50% healing. We all heal differently and aftertreatment care is of the utmost importance. You will be looked after the entire way, and given all the information and care you require.
ONGOING MAINTENANCE
Since brow feathering is a semi-permanent procedure, you will need to come back in a year’s time (sometimes less, depending on skin type) to enhance the colour and get the treatment re-done to keep it all looking fresh. This will only require one touch-up procedure.
